Jessica’s Brick Oven Bakery has been baking slow-rise breads since 1997. It was not until 2008 that the vision for the Bakery was transformed and a business built that could meet the vision of getting our high-quality breads to the masses.

The goal was to have “better breads” available to everyone. To accomplish this goal, the owners put together a great team of individuals that collectively get “better breads” out of our ovens and into the hands of happy customers across the USA, everyday of the year.

It all started in Woburn, Massachusetts in 1997. We have always specialized in baking slow-rise artisan breads, but before we became a nation-wide company, we only did it for local mom and pop shops, hotels and restaurants.

Fast-forward 11 years when the new owner envisioned better breads for everyone. He discovered tremendous potential in the Tuscan and Cinnamon Raisin Swirl breads, amongst others and thought if he could coordinate the slow ride artisan bread’s production to meet the needs of supermarket bakeries; we would truly have something special – and he was right. 

Production software was implemented to help coordinate the 2-day process to match the daily demand of in-store bakeries. The next hurdle was slicing odd-shaped hearth-baked breads at a speed that would outdo competitors and eventually lead to rapid growth. He developed distribution relationships to get the freshly baked and sliced breads to in-store Bakeries all over New England within hours of leaving the ovens. This ensured that the freshest quality breads would be delivered to customers every single day.

With these changes came extreme growth. We moved to a 65,000-sq/ft. facility and obtained a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certificate - the start of a nation-wide expansion! We are currently building a new state of the art 85,000-sq/ft. facility In order to meet on-going demand across the nation for our artisan breads.
